Noor Shama is the Director of the Division of Science, Technology and Interdisciplinary Research at the Centre for Discourse, Fusion, and Analysis (CDFA). In this role, she leads research programs at the intersection of scientific innovation, technological advancement, and policy development. Her work focuses on integrating scientific perspectives with social and historical contexts to develop more holistic and sustainable policy recommendations. She also serves as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of CDFA Research Foundation, managing the organization’s communications, public outreach, and stakeholder engagement strategies.

In addition to her leadership responsibilities, Noor is a core Member of the CDFA’s Internal Committee (IC), which ensures that the organization remains a safe, inclusive, and responsive space for all members, with a strong commitment to the principles of equity and justice in workplace conduct.

Noor Shama has a diverse academic background that bridges science and the humanities. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Allahabad, followed by a Master’s degree (M.A.) in History from Jamia Millia Islamia, and a Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Botany. This rare interdisciplinary training enables her to bring a unique perspective to research and policy analysis, especially in areas such as climate change, environmental sustainability, public health, and the interface between tradition and technology.

Her passion lies in using scientific knowledge to address societal challenges and building platforms for dialogue between researchers, policymakers, and communities. Noor believes in democratizing science and fostering public understanding of science and innovation, especially in the context of India’s development journey.
