Md. Shahbaz Ali is a history and culture scholar currently serving as the Director of the Division of Culture, History and Civilizational Dialogue at the Centre for Discourse, Fusion, and Analysis (CDFA). With a deep commitment to exploring India’s diverse historical and cultural fabric, he brings scholarly insight and academic rigor to his role.

He holds a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in History from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and a Master’s in History from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). He is presently pursuing his Ph.D. at the Centre of Advanced Study, Department of History, AMU, where his research focuses on the Sharqi Dynasty of Jaunpur, a pivotal yet often overlooked chapter in the history of medieval North India, particularly in present-day Uttar Pradesh.

Md. Shahbaz Ali has extensive expertise in the fields of medieval Indian history, Indo-Islamic culture, and civilizational studies. His academic interests encompass the dynamics of regional power structures, architectural legacies, and syncretic traditions. He is known for his rigorous archival research and field-based historical inquiry. Over the years, he has actively participated in academic seminars, heritage walks, and inter-disciplinary dialogues aimed at bridging history with contemporary cultural discourse.

As a core member of CDFA’s leadership team, he plays a vital role in steering research initiatives, fostering inter-civilizational dialogue, and enriching the public understanding of history as a tool for societal reflection and integration.
