Dr. Kaniz Fatima is a dedicated scholar and faculty member in the field of Economics, currently teaching at Hamidia Girls’ Degree College, a constituent college of the University of Allahabad. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Institute of Economics and Finance, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, where her doctoral research focused on the “Comprehensive Evaluation of Central Government’s Poverty Alleviation Schemes in the Allahabad (Prayagraj) Division of Uttar Pradesh.” Her research offers a critical analysis of the effectiveness, implementation gaps, and socio-economic outcomes of key poverty eradication initiatives in one of the most populous and diverse regions of India.
Dr. Fatima also holds an M.Phil. in Economics from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP), Varanasi, and completed both her M.A. and B.A. in Economics from the University of Allahabad, where she developed a strong academic grounding in microeconomics, macroeconomics, development economics, and public policy. She has also qualified the UGC-NET in Economics, attesting to her academic rigor and expertise in the discipline.
Her teaching and research interests lie in the domains of poverty and development studies, welfare economics, policy analysis, and rural transformation. She has contributed to curriculum development, student mentorship, and interdisciplinary discussions on inclusive growth and social welfare. A firm believer in evidence-based policymaking, Dr. Fatima continues to engage in empirical research and field-based evaluations that intersect economics with public administration and governance.
